Everyone in an organization has one of three roles: owner, admin or member. You manage them under Team in the sidebar. The page is titled User Management and has two tabs, Members and Invitations.

The three roles

  • Owner: the person who created the organization. There’s one owner, and nobody can change or remove them.
  • Admin: manages members, invitations and organization settings. Only the owner can make someone an admin or take the role away.
  • Member: works with everything else in the organization, from contacts to campaigns, but can’t manage the team or organization settings.

What each role can do

Rules that apply to everyone:
  • You can’t change your own role or remove yourself.
  • The owner’s role can’t be changed and the owner can’t be removed.
  • The owner role can’t be handed to someone else from the dashboard.

Invite someone

1

Open the invite dialog

In the sidebar, select Team, then Invite Member. The button is on both the Members and Invitations tabs.
2

Enter their details

In Email Address, enter the address they’ll sign in with. In Role, choose Member or Admin. Only the owner can invite someone as an admin. Select Send Invite.
Brudcast emails them a link to https://app.prod.brudcast.com/invite/…. The invitation appears on the Invitations tab as Pending and expires 7 days after it’s sent. They open the link, sign in with the invited address (signing up first if they need to), then select Accept Invitation or Decline. Brudcast emails the owner when someone accepts. The invitee’s side of this is in Create your account. To resend, select ⋮ on a pending, expired or cancelled invitation, then Resend Invitation. The link is emailed again with a fresh 7 days, and the original link keeps working. To cancel, select ⋮ on a pending invitation, then Cancel Invitation, and confirm. The link stops working, and you can resend it later.

Find a member

On the Members tab, type in Search members… to match first or last name, or an exact email address. Use the role filter (All Roles, Owner, Admin, Member) to narrow the list.

Change a member’s role

Before you start: you need to be the owner. Admins can open this dialog, but every change between admin and member is reserved for the owner.
1

Open the member's menu

On the Members tab, select ⋮ at the end of the person’s row, then Change Role. The menu doesn’t appear on your own row or the owner’s.
2

Pick the new role

In Change Role, choose Admin or Member, then select Update Role.
The person is signed out on every device and gets an email telling them about the change. When they sign back in, the new role applies.

Remove a member

Before you start: you need the owner or admin role.
  1. On the Members tab, select ⋮ on the person’s row, then Remove Member.
  2. Confirm with Remove Member.
They lose access to this organization straight away. Any API keys they created for it are revoked, so update any integration that used one. Their Brudcast login and their other organizations aren’t affected. You get an email confirming the removal.

Working in more than one organization

One Brudcast login can belong to several organizations, such as one per brand or per client. Select the organization name at the top of the sidebar to switch between them; a check mark shows the active one. You can have a different role in each. Each organization keeps its own contacts, lists, segments, forms and templates; campaigns and reports; channels, sending domains, sender identities and mailboxes; subscriptions, wallet and invoices; members and roles; and API keys and webhooks. An API key only works in the organization it was created in. Your own account settings are not separate: your profile, password, two-factor authentication and theme apply everywhere. To create another one, open the switcher and select Add Organization. Your account needs a verified phone number first, or you see Verify your phone number before creating an organization. Enter the Organisation name and Country of incorporation (which sets the regional pricing your plans are offered at, and only support can change later), pick the channels you’ll send on and how you’ll send, then optionally an Industry and Company size, and select Create organisation. You’re its owner, it becomes active, and it starts on the free Email and Mailbox plans with its own Brudcast trial address. Nothing is carried over. You can’t remove yourself from an organization, so ask an admin or the owner to remove you. There’s no option to delete an organization in the dashboard; write to support@brudcast.com if you need one removed.
