Create the addresses people actually use, and look after them afterwards. At the end, a mailbox shows Active and its owner can sign in from any mail client.
Before you start: add the domain under Mailboxes first. See Add a mail domain. You don’t have to wait for its DNS to verify: mailboxes can sign in and send straight away, and they start receiving mail once the MX record is in place.

Create a mailbox

1

Open the Add Mailbox panel

Open the domain from Mailboxes, then on its Mailboxes tab select Add Mailbox.
2

Enter the address

Enter the part before the @, an optional display name, and a storage quota of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 GB. The default is 5 GB. Addresses use letters, numbers and single ., _ or - separators, and are stored in lowercase.
3

Copy the password

Brudcast generates a 32-character password and shows it once. Copy it before you select Done, and send it to the person with the mail client settings. If it’s lost, reset it.
The mailbox shows Provisioning while it’s created, then Active. Addresses that are reserved, and the limits on how many mailboxes and aliases your plan allows, are in Hosted mailboxes.

Aliases

An alias is another address that delivers into an existing mailbox, so sales@example.com can land in Jane’s inbox without a second mailbox or password. On the mailbox’s row, select ⋮ > Manage Aliases, enter the part before the @ and select +. An alias is always on the same domain as its mailbox. Removing an alias stops mail reaching the mailbox and the address stays reserved. Deleting a mailbox removes its aliases too.

Reset a password

Brudcast can’t show a mailbox password again, so a lost password has to be replaced. In the mailbox’s actions menu (⋮), select Reset Password and confirm. The new password is shown once. The mailbox shows Provisioning while the change applies, then Active. The old password stops working, so update every mail client that uses it.

Suspend or delete a mailbox

Suspend stops a mailbox signing in, sending and receiving, and keeps its stored mail. Reactivate in the same menu undoes it.
Delete removes the mailbox, its aliases and all its stored messages, and can’t be undone. The addresses stay reserved, so you can’t create them again. If you might need the mailbox later, suspend it instead.
A deleted address stays reserved so that mail still on its way to the old owner can’t reach someone new. A mail domain can only be removed once every mailbox on it has been deleted.

Troubleshooting

Why: the mailbox is still being created or a new password is still being applied. Failed (provisioning_failed) means it couldn’t be created.Fix: wait a moment and reload the Mailboxes tab. If it stays Failed, delete it and add it again, or write to support@brudcast.com.
Why: the part before the @ is longer than 64 characters, uses characters other than letters, numbers and single ., _ or - separators, or is one of the reserved names such as postmaster or abuse. A deleted address stays reserved too.Fix: choose another address. The full list of reserved names is in Hosted mailboxes.
Why: your Mailbox plan’s mailbox allowance is used up, or you’ve reached the 25 mailboxes an organization can have across every domain.Fix: delete a mailbox you no longer use, or move to a larger plan. See Plans and subscriptions.
